Gaming in the Classroom
Let's Build Some Language!
This is a unit plan that uses the video game Minecraft to students an opportunity to put into use some of the language they learn over the course of a semester. Some activities include a cooperative building activity and a puzzle where students must use English to help each other navigate a puzzle.
Also included below is a PDF version of the PowerPoint presentation I used to originally introduce this topic to the class that it was a project for. Other documents are available in .doc and .pdf (These files are the same materials).

A Quest to Learn
This is a paper exploring the possibilities of using video games and gaming theories in curriculum and assessment. I feel this can increase student motivation and interest, and many of the techniques used in popular games can be easily converted for an educational environment.
